WOCube 4

From designing the template to going live. Four tools that speak the same language and a single render engine: you design in Creator, you go on air from PLAY, you pull up stills with DLS, you drive a WATCHOUT 7 show with Task+.

What it actually looks like

A grid of buttons for the takes, the on-air row with its running clock, and everything else underneath: data, timers, audio, engines.

Data, from newsroom to air

A single manager for variables, tables and protocols: the link to an Excel sheet, newsroom protocols, messages from the audience moderated one by one. It all converges into the templates, and from the templates it goes on air.

People working from outside,
without a system account

Every project can have its own users, separate from system accounts, who log in at a dedicated address. Three roles, each with its own stripped-down view — and nothing else.

Designer

Uploads the material

A file area limited to the project folder: upload, move, delete, with previews of images and video.

Newsroom

Data, stills and social

Edits the data exposed by the control room, browses and approves DLS stills, moderates the messages that become rows ready for air.

Production

Updates what is on air

One tab for each exposed variable or table, with automatic saving and printing of long texts.

Solid ground

Built to stay on air

Recovery

Backups that never destroy

Rotating copies and atomic writes: the file is never rewritten in place, so a blackout halfway through a save leaves the previous one intact. Every restore saves the current state first.

Continuity

Long sessions and redundancy

Sessions last as long as a control room that runs day and night, and the ghost channel keeps the backup signal up.

Several workstations

Locks and history

Two people on the same project never overwrite each other: the lock is per section and undo works per object, not per screen.

Portability

The project in one package

Data, media and templates come out together in a single file. Collaborator passwords never leave.

Latest release
4.3.1 WOCubeNG 4.3.1 27 August 2026

Here are the most significant changes in the version

New
  • creator Collector slideshow: an image box can cycle through all the photos of its linked folder, with transitions (fades, pushes, zooms, mosaic, 3D cube and flip), adjustable per-photo and transition timing and a tunable Ken Burns micro-zoom. Photos stay in sync with the folder and each slide keeps its own saved framing — including blurred side fill for portrait shots.
  • creator Permanent collector numbering: each photo gets a fixed number when it enters the collector (a 001 badge on thumbnails) that is never recomputed — exported file names stay stable as the folder grows. Two clicks on the badge swap the numbers of two photos.
  • creator One-step MXF export: the MXF button (Inspector, next to PSD export) renders the whole template straight to an XDCAM video — frame rendering plus server-side encoding, no manual steps.
  • creator Workstation chat: the same panel as PLAY, on a channel dedicated to the graphics editor, to coordinate template work.
Improved
  • creator Much faster MXF export: lighter frames, parallel pipelines, still-frame reuse and a dedicated fast path for slideshow templates. Export keeps running even when you switch browser tabs.
  • Preview of videos the browser can't play (ProRes .mov, XDCAM .mxf) opens directly in ffplay on the server.
Fixed
  • creator Slideshow in preview, on air and in the exported video now matches the canvas exactly: per-photo framing respected, clean start on the first photo, seamless cycle close (looped video is continuous).
